Fire Sprinkler Designer

The Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for developing accurate, code-compliant fire sprinkler system layouts and hydraulic calculations for new construction, tenant improvement, and renovation projects. This position plays a key role in coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure each project meets design, scheduling, and compliance goals.

Remote work will be available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design complete fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and project specifications.
  • Prepare detailed installation drawings using AutoCAD, AutoSprink, or equivalent design software.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and material listings.
  • Coordinate design layouts with architects, engineers, general contractors, and field personnel.
  • Review project documents, specifications, and plans to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare submittals, design revisions, and as-built drawings as required.
  • Assist project managers and estimators with technical support during bidding and construction phases.
  • Communicate design requirements effectively to fabrication and installation teams.
  • Ensure deadlines and milestones are met through proactive planning and coordination.
  • Maintain organized documentation for design records, revisions, and project files.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fire sprinkler design.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, and 24, as well as applicable state and local codes.
  • NICET Level I or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoSprink, and HydraCALC (or similar hydraulic software).
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the larger project team.
  • Desire to lead, learn, and grow within the company.

Salary can be negotiated based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
