Salary: $73,963 - $108,504

To Qualify


Qualified applicants must possess and maintain State of Florida Paramedic and Firefighter certifications; achieve a passing score on the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)* dated no more than one (1) year prior to the job closing date -OR- have been employed in the capacity of a sworn Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic for twelve (12) consecutive months within two (2) years of the date of application; possess a high school diploma or GED Equivalency; be at least 18 years of age; possess and maintain a State of Florida Class “E” Driver’s License; be a non-user of tobacco products (for at least one year); and must meet all criteria of the City's current "Selection Standards for Firefighter Positions".   • For verification purposes, all candidates applying with a passing Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) score must register with the National Testing Network (NTN) (www.nationaltestingnetwork.com).


Selection Process


Selection Process:
Candidates that meet all the selection standards may be invited to participate in the pre-employment screening process to determine the most qualified applicants. The process includes completion of a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ), Polygraph, Departmental Interview(s), Background Investigation, and post-offer employment Medical Exam and Drug Test.
