Job description: The Lansing Township Fire Department is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies for full-time Firefighter/ Paramedic (preferred), Firefighter/EMT-B or Paramedic.

General Performance Requirements· The probationary Firefighter shall spend the time necessary for training sessions, meetings, work duties and emergency calls.· Candidates must have knowledge and ability to operate all emergency medical and fire equipment.· Support departmental rules and regulations.· Perform all duties in a proficient and professional manner.· Obey all orders and commands of the Officers of the Fire Department.· Maintain a passing grade on all testing conducted by the training officer over a twelve (12) month probationary period.· Obey all Michigan emergency vehicle codes and department regulations while driving emergency vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• State of Michigan Firefighter I and II Certification.
• Hazmat Operations level Certification
• State of Michigan Paramedic License (preferred).
• State of Michigan EMT-B License

This posting is a for a full-time position with Lansing Township Fire Department as a Firefighter. Firefighter/ Paramedics preferred, but we will be accepting applications from Firefighter/EMT-B and Paramedic’s Licensure only candidates as well. Firefighter/EMT-B and Paramedic only will be required to continue education to obtain Paramedic Licensure and Firefighter 1 & 2 certifications if hired.
