Overview
The Village of Maineville Ohio is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fiscal Officer to oversee and manage the financial operations of the municipality.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in governmental and non-profit accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
This role requires the ability to manage complex financial reports to support the Village’s fiscal health and long-term objectives.
The Fiscal Officer will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to standards, and other regulatory frameworks while fostering transparency and accountability within public financial management.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of fiscal operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support the Village.
- Oversee accounting functions such as general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and cost control measures.
- Prepare and interpret financial statements, reports, and analyses including profit & loss statements, cash flow analysis, and revenue management reports.
- Lead regulatory reporting efforts ensuring timely submission of financial disclosures in accordance with government standards.
- Utilize financial software for accurate bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and data analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Perform internal controls including account analysis, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and cost management initiatives.
- Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Qualifications
- Experience in governmental accounting and UAN software.
- Experience in public library or corporate finance or non-profit accounting environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven expertise in financial analysis, risk assessment, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and investment management.
- Proficiency with advanced financial software systems; experience with public accounting tools is a plus. Experience with current UAN software a plus.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and interpretation along with strong analytical capabilities.
- Strong understanding of compliance management practices related to public sector finance.
