Sun State is seeking an experienced Truck & Trailer Fleet Inventory Specialist to join our team!

Location: Davenport
Position: Fleet Inventory Specialist

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing Rental Fleet Inventory, including Rental Tractors and Trailers. If you have experience in fleet management and are looking for an exciting opportunity, we’d love to hear from you!


Fleet Inventory Technician Required Education, Licenses, and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Commercial Transportation Industry
  • Valid Class A CDL, required.
  • Driving record that adheres to company standard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Basic computer skills; including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Mechanical/Technical skills, commercial truck/trailer experience required


Fleet Inventory Technician Task and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Trailer and Tractor Inventory in saleable condition
  • Check-in and inspect Stock and Rental Trailers and Tractors delivered to location
  • Delivery/Pick up of stock and/or Rental Trailers and Tractors to customers
  • Complete Department of Transportation Inspections and Maintain Paperwork
  • Communicate necessary major repairs on fleet equipment with rental/sales department
  • Coordinate outside vendor repairs as needed on fleet equipment
  • Install minor cosmetic items on fleet equipment (Decals, Mud Flaps, License Plates, etc)
  • Diagnose and perform minor repairs on equipment, as needed.
  • Adhere to Company Safety Policy and OSHA Regulations

  • Visual requirements include, close vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Well lighted area with constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
