Job Summary:The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the companys fleet operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, compliance, and safety. This role manages vehicle acquisition, maintenance, utilization, driver performance, and regulatory compliance while optimizing fleet performance to support business objectives.Key Responsibilities:1. Fleet Operations Management

Oversee daily fleet operations and vehicle allocation.

Ensure maximum vehicle utilization and operational efficiency.

Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and usage reports.

Implement tracking systems (GPS, telematics) to monitor fleet activity.
2. Maintenance & Asset Management

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.

Ensure timely servicing, repairs, and inspections.

Monitor vehicle condition and lifecycle management.

Manage vendor relationships for maintenance and spare parts.
3. Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with local transportation laws and regulations.

Maintain accurate vehicle documentation (licenses, insurance, permits).

Implement fleet safety policies and driver training programs.

Investigate accidents and implement corrective measures.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting

Prepare and manage the fleet budget (fuel, maintenance, insurance, leasing).

Analyze operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Monitor fuel efficiency and prevent misuse or fraud.
5. Team Management

Supervise fleet supervisors, drivers, and support staff.

Conduct performance evaluations and training.

Ensure discipline, safety standards, and operational procedures are followed.
6. Reporting & Data Analysis

Prepare periodic reports on fleet KPIs (utilization rate, downtime, cost per vehicle, accident rate).

Provide recommendations to senior management for optimization and expansion.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field.

5+ years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations.

Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet tracking systems.

Good understanding of transportation regulations and compliance.
