Position Summary: MD Landscaping is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and experienced individual to join our team as a Fleet Mechanic. The Fleet Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including pickup trucks, trailers, and small engine machinery such as walker mowers and sod rollers. This role requires a hands-on individual who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain issues.
Overhaul and repair engines, transmissions, axles, and other major components (based on experience).
Maintain and repair small engines and landscaping machinery.
Conduct seasonal preparation and maintenance for summer and winter operations.
Utilize shop specialty tools and maintain personal basic toolset.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding repairs and timelines.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a mechanic working with trucks, trailers, and small engines.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.
Experience with electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics is a plus.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Willingness to learn and grow with the company.
Must provide a personal basic set of tools/toolbox (shop specialty tools are available).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Experience:
Mechanical knowledge preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience as an Automotive Technician/Mechanic or similar role, 3-5 years preferred.
License/Certification:
Driver's License
GED/Diploma
Technical College a plus
