Float Teacher - Afternoon Start

Join our dynamic early childhood education team as a Float Teacher with an afternoon start! As a Float Teacher, you will support classroom stability by seamlessly transitioning between different groups, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes early learning and social-emotional growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with children across different age ranges, including toddlers and preschoolers, while utilizing your skills in curriculum development, behavior management, and childhood development.

Duties

  • Provide high-quality care and instruction to children in multiple classrooms, adapting to each group’s unique needs and developmental stages
  • Assist in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math activities, physical education, and Montessori methods when applicable
  • Support classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and a respectful learning environment
  • Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to ensure smooth transitions between classrooms and consistent educational experiences
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster social skills, early intervention strategies, and overall child welfare
  • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children's progress, behavior, and classroom activities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, health regulations, and licensing requirements

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education needs, and early intervention techniques
  • Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for early learners and tutoring strategies for literacy and math
  • Experience with toddler care, preschool activities, and teaching physical education is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and families
  • Certification or coursework in early childhood education or Montessori methods is a plus
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments while maintaining a positive attitude
