Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Floral Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floral artistry, horticulture, and customer service, with the ability to create stunning floral arrangements for various occasions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant retail environment, combining artistic skills with retail operations to deliver exceptional customer experiences. The Floral Designer will also assist with related tasks such as merchandising, stocking, and maintaining the floral department to ensure an inviting shopping atmosphere.

Duties

  • Design and create custom floral arrangements for events, holidays, and everyday customers using floral design principles and techniques
  • Assist customers in selecting flowers and related products, providing expert advice on floral care and arrangement options
  • Maintain the freshness and appearance of all floral displays through proper handling, watering, and rotation
  • Manage inventory levels by stocking flowers, tools, and supplies efficiently while ensuring proper organization
  • Operate POS systems for sales transactions, process cash handling accurately, and manage retail math to ensure correct pricing and totals
  • Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays attractively to enhance sales potential
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and professionally in multiple languages if applicable
  • Perform gardening or landscape maintenance tasks as needed to support overall store presentation
  • Utilize e-commerce platforms for online orders or promotions when required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral department area

Requirements

  • Proven experience or strong interest in floral design, horticulture, gardening, or landscape maintenance
  • Knowledge of retail sales procedures including POS systems, cash handling, and merchandising techniques
  • Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking, inventory management, and display setup
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Basic understanding of retail math for pricing and sales transactions
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms is desirable but not required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays if needed
  • A positive attitude with strong teamwork skills and the ability to multitask effectively

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
