Position Overview:

  • The Florist Manager will oversee and manage the entire cut flower facility at Red Sea Nursery, leading a team of 6-7 staff.
  • This role encompasses managing cut flower production at the nursery, sourcing flowers locally and internationally, coordinating packaging and quality control, managing client relationships with resort management, and ensuring the delivery of top-quality floral products to Red Sea Global resorts.
  • The Florist Manager will be expected to maintain a strong focus on operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Team Leadership & Staff Management:

  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of floral designers, production staff, and logistics personnel.
  • Oversee staff training and professional development to improve skills and efficiency.
  • Allocate tasks, manage schedules, and ensure smooth workflow across the facility.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive work environment.


2. Cut Flower Production:

  • Manage the cultivation and production of a variety of cut flower species at the nursery.
  • Ensure optimal growing conditions, pest control, and proper harvesting schedules.
  • Implement sustainable and innovative horticultural practices to maximize yield and quality.
  • Conduct trials to identify the best-performing flower varieties for the Red Sea region’s conditions.


3. Procurement & Vendor Management:

  • Source high-quality cut flowers from local and international suppliers to meet resort demands.
  • Negotiate favorable contracts and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of packaging materials and supplies.


4. Packaging, Quality Control, and Inventory Management:

  • Oversee flower sorting, grading, and packaging operations to ensure high-quality presentation.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes for all floral products.
  • Manage inventory to minimize waste and ensure optimal stock levels for orders.


5. Sales and Client Engagement:

  • Meet with resort management to understand floral requirements and secure orders.
  • Develop customized floral solutions for resorts, special events, and luxury experiences.
  • Ensure timely delivery of fresh, high-quality flowers to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to increase sales opportunities.


6. Financial and Operational Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for the cut flower facility.
  • Track expenses, revenue, and profit margins, and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Develop and implement operational policies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.


7. Market Trends and Product Innovation:

  • Stay updated on trends in floral design, color schemes, and flower varieties popular in luxury hospitality.
  • Continuously introduce new design concepts and flower varieties to maintain a competitive edge.


8. Event Planning and Floral Design:

  • Participate in designing floral arrangements for high-profile events, ensuring aesthetics align with resort themes.
  • Coordinate floral installations for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions at Red Sea Global resorts.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Artistic and Creative Vision: Strong sense of aesthetics for floral arrangement and design.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with resort management and resolve issues proactively.

  • Horticultural Expertise : Knowledge of flower cultivation, harvesting techniques, and post-harvest management practices.
  • Sales Acumen: Ability to negotiate with suppliers, close sales deals, and meet sales targets.
  • Financial Management: Budgeting, cost control, and pricing strategy experience.
  • Sustainability Focus: Understanding of sustainable production practices and the importance of environmental stewardship.
  • Attention to Detail : Strong focus on quality control to ensure top-notch floral products.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agricultural Science, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in floral management, cut flower production, or related roles.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or resort floral services is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in procurement, vendor management, and inventory control systems.
