FOH Team Member: Host/Hostess

Job Overview
Bash Izakaya is seeking a friendly, organized, and service-focused Host/Hostess to create a welcoming first impression and ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in setting the tone for each guest’s visit through warmth, attentiveness, and strong attention to detail. As a Host/Hostess, you will play a key role in managing the flow of service, coordinating seating, and supporting the front-of-house team while continuing to grow your professional skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and create a positive first impression
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using the POS system
• Seat guests in a timely and organized manner based on table availability
• Explain QR code menus and communicate any key information
• Maintain awareness of dining room flow and coordinate with servers
• Monitor wait times and communicate updates clearly to guests
• Answer phone calls and assist with reservations and general inquiries
• Support servers by clearing and resetting tables as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Follow the host/hostess guidelines and service standards
• Work collaboratively with kitchen, sushi bar, and front-of-house staff
• Enter in to-go orders & delivery app orders into the POS system
• Pack and label correctly and efficiently

Experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor
• Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Prior host/hostess or customer service experience preferred but not required
• Full-time preferred, but part-time is available

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to move quickly between the entrance and dining areas
• Ability to assist with light lifting and table resetting
