About The Role

As a Food and Beverage Associate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by engaging directly with guests to ensure their needs are met with warmth and professionalism. You will actively contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment while upholding Farah’s mission, values, and operational standards. Your responsibilities span from greeting guests and guiding them through menu selections to executing precise food and beverage service techniques, managing reservations, and resolving guest concerns with efficiency. By embodying Farah’s behavioral competencies—creating smiles, sharing knowledge, delivering excellence, and fostering teamwork—you will not only enhance guest satisfaction but also drive revenue growth through upselling and suggestive selling. This role demands a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning to uphold the highest standards of service and safety.

What You'll Do

Guest Engagement & Service

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide personalized service aligned with Farah’s standards, ensuring a welcoming and memorable experience.
  • Actively listen to guest preferences and offer tailored recommendations for food, beverages, and complementary items to enhance their dining journey.
  • Manage reservations and waiting lists efficiently to optimize table turnover while maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Address guest complaints with professionalism, applying recovery solutions promptly to resolve issues and uphold Farah’s reputation.

Operational Excellence

  • Relay orders accurately to the kitchen and serve courses in the correct sequence, adhering to local standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct opening and closing procedures meticulously, ensuring all equipment, dispensers, and dining areas meet hygiene and presentation standards.
  • Stock and replenish condiment stations, clean machinery, and maintain a tidy workspace in compliance with HACCP and company protocols.
  • Operate POS systems with precision, managing cash floats, sales reconciliation, and adherence to overage/shortage policies.

Team Collaboration & Training

  • Assist in cross-functional tasks such as inventory management, stock replenishment, and maintaining an orderly outlet environment.
  • Participate in all training programs and assessments to continuously develop skills in food safety, service techniques, and Farah’s strategic initiatives.
  • Support colleagues by embodying Farah’s values—creating smiles, sharing knowledge, and working as one—to foster a cohesive and high-performing team.

Safety & Compliance

  • Uphold all UAE laws, health, safety, and environmental policies, reporting incidents or concerns to management to ensure a secure workplace.
  • Adhere to emergency procedures, including evacuations and drills, to prioritize guest and colleague safety at all times.
  • Handle cash, wristbands, and POS transactions with integrity, following company protocols to prevent discrepancies and ensure operational success.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food and beverage service, with proficiency in customer service and cash handling.
  • Essential Food Safety Training certification (e.g., EFST).
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to upsell products and suggest complementary items to enhance guest experience and revenue.
  • Commitment to learning and following instructions to maintain high service standards.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience as a waiter/waitress in a 4-star hotel or upscale dining environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of food and beverage experience for advanced roles.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic (preferred) to cater to diverse guest needs.
  • Banquet service training or experience in high-volume dining settings.
