Food Safety Manager

Seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to support the Director of Food Safety in maintaining USDA/FDA food safety regulations, implementing FSMA requirements, and adhering to SQF and Company policies and procedures. This position oversees FSQA operations across multiple sites and HACCP plans ensuring consistent compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role is essential in organizing and managing documentation, assisting with audits, and ensuring smooth communication between departments. While food safety experience is preferred, we will provide training on specific food safety and regulatory processes.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Regulatory & Compliance Support

• Assist in maintaining food safety documentation, compliance records, and inspection reports for USDA/FDA/SQF/HACCP/FSMA.
• Organize and update standard operating procedures related to food safety and sanitation.
• Prepare and maintain records for internal and external audits
• Support label verification, product realization activities, mock recalls, and risk assessments

✅ Communication & Coordination

• Help review and close out customer complaints and perform root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions

· Work with in-house USDA Inspector and relay any regulatory changes or issues.

• Answer phone calls, manage emails, and relay messages to the appropriate teams.
• Work closely with the Director of Food Safety, Operations, Quality, and R&D teams to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

✅ Training & Reporting Assistance

• Assist in scheduling and leading employee food safety training sessions and maintaining attendance records.
• Support the Director of Food Safety in preparing reports and presentations for management.
• Track and follow up on corrective actions from safety inspections.
• Environmental Monitoring
• Working with USDA Inspectors and Auditors

✅ Logistics/Inventory & Administrative/Data Entry

• Knowledge of Inventory, Logistics, and Traceability.
• Enter and track food safety reports, supplier documentation, and compliance records.
• Maintain organized records in company systems and ensure accuracy in all documentation.

Qualifications

✔ Preferred: Experience in the food industry, USDA, FDA and SQF regulations, Haccp and/or PCQI Certified
✔ Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
✔ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required to assist with a diverse workforce and vendors

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
