Job Purpose:
Maintain high standards of food safety by undertaking scheduled inspections and verification of CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs, and by informing the senior members of the department and stakeholders of any discrepancy. Assist in the laboratory work where required.
Key Result Areas:

Carry out spot verification through internal inspections on the shop floor and communicate through shift reports.

Monitor the Food Safety performance of stakeholders by review of internal audit, customer complaints. Prepare trend analysis of Food Safety Performance at the assigned business units and cascade to stakeholders.

Conduct on site audits at local food suppliers as per the set frequency. Conduct e-audits for all overseas food suppliers as per the assignment.

Investigate critical food safety related customer complaints or food safety related issues with suppliers.

Perform Microbiological analysis as per the assignment. Ensure ISO 17025 certification requirement are appropriately maintained in the laboratory

Supervise and guide Food Safety Supervisors, Sr Food Safety Assistants, Food Safety Assistants on Food safety related matters.

Ensure CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs established are monitored/verified as per Hazard control plan by supervising and guiding food safety team.

Take part in HACCP review during new product development, changes in process, new processes and as per the stipulated frequency

Assist in Food Safety audits conducted by Airline and Commercial customers to ensure compliance with external safety standards and customer requirements.

Support Food Safety Manager or Senior Food Safety Manager on daily operational requirement and continual improvement.
Job Context:

The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for routine verification of food safety standards at EKFC business units. This involves
-
routine inspections on shop floor, ongoing system maintenance by reviewing FSSC 22000 requirement and other applicable
-
regulatory and airline standards. This role is also responsible to conduct food supplier approval program for EKFC. This involves
-
physical inspection and assessment of local suppliers and system audits (paper audit assessments) of overseas suppliers. The job
-
holder is also responsible for dealing with all physical, chemical and microbiological issues or any other matter that may arise with
-
any suppliers’ food product. Where assigned, the job holder will also perform microbiological analysis in the in-house laboratory.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:
Education Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Food Technology or Equivalent (Must have)

Level 4 Food Safety training or Equivalent (Preferred to have)
Work Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Food Safety related role

Catering business or food manufacturing or related field
Skills:
-
Good standard of written and spoken English. Be self motivated, independent and confident.

Good communication skills are also an essential requirement for this position.
