Job Description
- Team leadership:Supervise, direct, and mentor electricians and technicians, assigning duties and ensuring work is completed effectively.
- Project management:Plan and schedule daily tasks, allocate manpower and materials, and monitor progress to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Quality and compliance:Inspect all installation, maintenance, and repair work to verify quality and ensure compliance with project specifications, codes (e.g., NEC, ISA), and safety regulations.
- Technical expertise:Interpret technical drawings (P&IDs, schematics) and provide technical guidance. Oversee installation, calibration, loop checking, and testing of E&I equipment and systems.
- Safety enforcement:Conduct safety inspections and "toolbox talks," ensure proper use of safety procedures like permit-to-work systems, and enforce site safety regulations.
- Problem-solving:Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, SCADA, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
- Reporting and communication:Maintain accurate records (daily reports, logs) and provide regular updates on work progress to project managers or engineers. Coordinate with other departments and trades to avoid interface issues.
Skills
- E&I systems:Deep knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, installation.
- Technical drawings:Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation/control schematics.
- Tools and equipment:Proficiency with hand and power tools, and safe operation of all necessary equipment.
- Safety compliance:Strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC, ISA).
- Troubleshooting:Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in electrical, SCADA, and instrumentation systems.
- Testing and calibration:Experience with calibration, loop checking, and testing of E&I equipment.
