Job Summary
-
The BVG Landscape Foreman oversees the installation of landscape upgrades for commercial maintenance accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Conduct weekly job site inspections and complete job site checklists
-
Oversee installation of landscape, irrigation, and site development materials
-
Schedule and coordinate timely delivery of materials and equipment
-
Ensure crew productivity, quality control, and compliance with safety protocols
-
Assist in job scheduling and manage coordination with subcontractors
-
Lead weekly tailgate safety meetings and ensure employee attendance
-
Enforce on-site safety practices, including traffic hazard reviews, hard hat and safety gear checks, underground utility alerts and trade hazard evaluations, and general public safety assessments

Maintain hazardous communication folders with chemical safety forms
-
Report unsafe behavior or incidents to the Superintendent and Safety Office
-
Submit accident reports in accordance with company policy
-
Safeguard company assets and ensure proper use of materials and tools
-
Support internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure proper segregation of duties
-
Uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and comply with all laws, regulations, and company ethics policies
-
Periodically reconcile physical assets with accounting records
Education and Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or landscape installation
-
Proven leadership experience managing crews on active job sites
-
Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints
-
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
-
Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic
-
Effective oral and written communication skills
-
Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
-
First Aid certification (or ability to become certified)
Physical Demands/Requirements:
-
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
-
Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
-
Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
Work Environment:
-
Work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
-
Work near or about natural bodies of water
-
Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required)
-
Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
-
Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
