We are seeking an experienced Furniture Foreman to lead our production team in creating beautiful, high-quality furniture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in furniture production, assembly, and quality control, with proven leadership skills. You will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations, ensuring timely delivery of projects, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Supervision & Leadership
o Direct and supervise daily activities of carpenters, painters, polishers, upholsterers, and helpers.
o Conduct daily toolbox talks and assign tasks based on skills and production schedule.
o Monitor team performance and provide feedback, coaching, or corrective action as needed.
o Ensure discipline, punctuality, and a safe working environment among all workshop or site staff.
2. Production Management
o Manage and oversee the full furniture production process from raw material preparation to final finishing.
o Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings ensure products match design specifications.
o Plan production schedules in coordination with the project manager to meet deadlines.
o Ensure all products meet dimensional accuracy, quality, and finish standards before delivery.
3. Material & Resource Planning
o Monitor material usage and ensure minimum waste while maintaining quality.
o Coordinate with the storekeeper or procurement team to ensure availability of materials, tools, and hardware.
4. Workflow Coordination
o Ensure smooth coordination between departments such as carpentry, painting, polishing, and upholstery.
o Manage the flow of work between workshop sections and ensure timely handover of tasks between teams.
o Coordinate furniture delivery and on-site installation in collaboration with logistics and site supervisors.
5. Tool & Equipment Oversight
o Ensure all workshop tools and machines are used correctly and maintained properly.
o Schedule maintenance or repairs for tools and machinery when necessary.
o Prevent misuse or damage to equipment.
6. Process Improvement
o Identify areas of inefficiency and suggest improvements to workshop operations or layout.
o Propose changes to materials, tools, or methods to increase productivity or reduce costs.
o Ensure tasks are completed within allocated time and resource budgets.
o Prevent delays caused by poor planning, missing materials, or absenteeism.
o Highlight any anticipated project overruns to management in advance.
Qualifications:
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Expertise in furniture design, construction, and finishing processes.
· Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
· Knowledge of safety protocols and quality control standards.
· Ability to troubleshoot and solve production issues quickly.
· High school diploma required; formal training in carpentry or furniture design is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: QAR4,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per month
