Fraud Strategy Analyst

Position is remote - Incumbent should reside within the Arvest 4 State Operational Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK).

Position is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with the ability to work additional hours as needed.

Job Title: Fraud Strategy Analyst

A Fraud Strategy Analyst at Arvest provides daily oversight and administration of fraud strategy tactics, data mining, trend review and loss mitigation recommendations for senior leadership review. They align to a payment channel, including but not limited to the card, check, digital money movement and account opening/applications. They work with internal business partners to understand how strategies are performing and tune for optimal outputs. The Fraud Strategy Analysts are measured on losses relative to the channel, timely awareness of leadership, partnership ability, and managing customer friction.

What You’ll Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Manage, develop, communicate, and implement optimal fraud strategies (including rules, cutoffs, policies, operational flows, etc.) to protect the bank from fraud-related losses and improve the customer experience.
  • Interpret large quantities of complex data to formulate problem statements and concise conclusions regarding underlying fraud trends and opportunities.
  • Identify business opportunities by performing well-thought-out analysis and data mining, ensuring data integrity, and synthesizing and communicating findings to senior management.
  • Identify and develop key risk indicators and metrics within the payment channel assigned.
  • Identify new areas of analytic focus to better anticipate or capture fraud through enhanced reporting and research.
  • Assist team effort in the critical development of new fraud and spending pattern detection tools.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on strategic implementations and testing initiatives related to improving the risk mitigation processes and infrastructure.
  • Provide clear and concise oral and written communication across various functions and levels, including fraud operations, information security, technology, and risk.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to understand and address key business challenges.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best fraud detection and prevention practices.

  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Toolbox for Success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional or military experience
  • 4 years of relevant experience in fraud, risk, payments, or related fields.
  • Proven track record in solving business problems in either project management or individual contributor roles by leveraging a well-organized and structured approach.
  • Strong understanding of money movement channels, such as card payments, checks, digital, and P2P.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.

Preferred:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with individuals across departments.
  • Technical skills include MS Office (including Excel), Visualization tools (Tableau, etc.), SQL, etc.
