Freelance Makeup Artist

Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Makeup Artist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of makeup application techniques, color theory, and sanitation practices. As a Makeup Artist, you will provide exceptional customer service while enhancing clients' beauty through various makeup applications and beauty services. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Perform makeup applications for clients, ensuring a flawless finish tailored to their preferences and needs.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all makeup tools and products.
• Utilize knowledge of color theory to create complementary looks for diverse skin tones.
• Provide consultations to clients regarding makeup styles, products, and techniques.
• Assist with retail sales by recommending products that suit client needs and preferences.
• Offer additional beauty services such as hair threading, body waxing, eyelash extensions, and hair styling as needed.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in makeup artistry and beauty techniques.
• Collaborate with photographers during photoshoots to achieve desired looks that align with creative visions.
• Upsell beauty products and services to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Makeup Artist or in a similar role within the beauty industry.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices related to makeup application.
• Proficiency in makeup application techniques, including special effects if applicable.
• Familiarity with cosmetology principles and practices is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas clearly to clients and team members.
• Experience in photography is a plus, particularly in understanding how makeup translates on camera.
• Ability to perform additional services such as dermabrasion or advanced beauty treatments is an advantage.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $120.00 per hour
