Freelance Warehouse Architect

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Warehouse Architect to design, plan, and optimize warehouse layouts that support efficient storage, streamlined operations, and future scalability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in warehouse architecture, industrial design, space planning, and knowledge of modern logistics and material-handling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed architectural designs for warehouse facilities, including storage areas, office spaces, and operational zones.
• Create layout plans that maximize space utilization, safety, workflow efficiency, and compliance with relevant building codes.
• Design racking systems, loading/unloading areas, inventory flow paths, and equipment placement.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to understand business needs and translate them into functional designs.
• Provide 2D/3D drawings, CAD plans, and architectural models as required.
• Conduct onsite assessments to evaluate existing warehouse conditions and propose improvements.
• Ensure designs align with safety standards (OSHA, local UAE standards if applicable).
• Support project estimation, BOQ preparation, and contractor coordination when needed.
• Recommend suitable materials, technologies, and sustainability practices for warehouse construction.
• Provide expert guidance on warehouse expansion, automation readiness, and operational optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience designing warehouses, distribution centers, or industrial facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other architectural tools.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, racking systems, and logistics workflows.
• Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations (UAE experience preferred, if applicable).
• Excellent analytical and space-planning skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality designs within deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with warehouse automation layouts (conveyors, AS/RS, robotics).
• Understanding of HVAC, MEP coordination, and fire safety system integration.
• Familiarity with sustainability and energy-efficient building design.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From AED2,000.00 per week

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
