PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Five days a week from 12p to 5:30p during the school year and 9a to 4p in the summer and out of school time weeks serve as front desk coordinator. Will provide regular clerical and administrative support to club staff, accept registrations, check people in and out of building, answer phones, maintain files.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Front Desk Coordination

- Perform regular secretarial duties preparing information and reports as requested

- Maintain master schedule of club activities and events, collecting and disseminating information to club staff, volunteers, members and families as instructed.

- Answer phones, providing general information and taking messages as necessary

- Ensure an attractive, welcoming, fun environment is created and maintained.

- Support and maintain Club program goals and settings that insure the health and safety of members. Participate actively in trainings that promote understanding of youth development, standards of program philosophy and delivery. Help ensure that Club equipment is maintained in good working condition.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May oversee special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary.

2. May oversee supervision of youth for special events.

3. Assume other duties as assigned

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel.

External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member's parent/guardians, and others to assist in resolving problems as instructed by supervisor.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year office experience prefered
  • Typing/keyboarding skills of at least 50wpm
  • Experience in working with youth.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm and strong initiative skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to perform broad ranging physical responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted setting.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to fifty pounds as needed.
  • Reliable transportation required.
