FRONT DESK/ DENTAL ASSISTANT

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk/Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients while providing exceptional support to the dental practitioners. You will be responsible for managing patient check-ins and check-outs, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily office activities. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage appointment scheduling using Open Dental.
  • Verify patient insurance information and ensure HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary dental supplies in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
  • Assist dentists during various procedures.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while maintaining proper safety standards for radiation exposure
  • Record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant medical documentation accurately within Epic or similar systems
  • Manage patient records meticulously, ensuring all medical coding and documentation are precise for billing and legal purposes

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems ( Dentrix, Open Dental) for scheduling, documentation, and billing
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
  • Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside support, taking X-rays, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement
  • Familiarity with pediatric dentistry procedures and the unique needs of pediatric patients
  • Ability to handle medical records management with attention to detail and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to coordinate appointments and answer patient inquiries effectively
  • Knowledge of dental specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics is a plus for supporting diverse treatment plans

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
