Front Desk Receptionist

We are looking for a small-business Receptionist for our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a wide variety of tasks. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clinic. Our Receptionist’s duties include welcoming clients, assisting customers with purchases, basic cleaning, and animal care duties. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls. We are a high call volume business. To be successful as our Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality and provide outstanding customer service. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner; while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This role may rarely require working extended hours in the event of an emergency. Ultimately, a Receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes clients positively and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome clients as soon as they arrive at the office
  • Answer, screen and forward high-volume incoming phone calls
  • Ensure the office is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
  • Data entry into our Avimark system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Animal care including feeding, walking, observing, etc.
  • Basic cleaning duties
  • Filling of medication

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, Veterinary Assistant or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with office and medical equipment (e.g. fax machines, printers, medications)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalency; additional certification in reception and/or animal care is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
