This ambulatory surgery center will provide state-of-the-art urological care tailed to the needs of each patient.

General Duties
Front Desk Associate – Check-in
- Greets every patient with a smile and takes ownership of needs at the check in desk.
- Checks in patients via the practice management system and communicates with the medical assistants when the patient is ready for their appointment.
- Assist patients with the completion of all on-boarding documents, insurance card collection, insurance updates, payments, and general questions. Accurately updates the patient chart with info.
- Assist patients with their online portal registration and questions.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy lobby and check-in area.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate cash handling, cash collection and end of day reconciliations.
- Complies with all HIPAA and OSHA policy.
- Assist patients with additional services needed at time of check in such as FMLA requests.
- Works closely with the billing department to ensure accuracy with co-pays, deductibles, and any other related charges.
- Other assorted medical front office duties.
Surgery Scheduler
- Schedule hospital based medical procedures, for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot, utilizing appropriate scheduling information.
- Coordinates and ensures that all diagnostic and imaging testing is completed prior to surgery.
- Interfaces with appropriate vendors and staff to ensure all necessary equipment will be on site and ready.
- Ensures patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as needed.
- Coordinates with appropriate hospital staff to ensure a cohesive working relationship in providing patient care.
- Enters notes/special instructions needed for scheduling in the electronic medical record.
- Effectively utilizes clinical knowledge base when scheduling cases indicated by the provider.
- Completes accurate documentation of informed consent with patients for surgeries as needed.
- Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations, time of patients scheduled arrival, and any other directional information needed; takes appropriate action in responding quickly to questions from patients.
- Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone.
- Confirms patient’s insurance provider and coordinates with internal team to ensure that cases are properly authorized on patient’s behalf.
- Reviews discharge instructions with patients and ensures proper follow-up appointments are scheduled at the time the procedure is scheduled.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that organizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Assists other members of the department as needed.

This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment background check, to be conducted following a conditional offer of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and experience scheduling surgeries in a health care environment is required.
- Requires a thorough understanding of medical terminology and the ability to explain procedures/surgeries to patients, including the informed consent process.
- Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude essential.
- Travel to any of the Urology Nevada locations may be necessary upon request.
