Front End Web Developer

Accelerate Media is seeking an experienced Front-End Web Developer to design and implement attractive, functional websites for our clients. If you have excellent website development skills and a passion for building solutions that get results, we want to meet you!

The Ideal Candidate
You’re a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You can grasp the big-picture view of a project and contribute strategic recommendations for achieving the desired goals. You have in-depth knowledge of front-end programming languages, a good eye for aesthetics, and proven WordPress development experience.

Responsibilities
You must be able to develop, update, and maintain highly functional, responsive, user-friendly, and secure websites that meet our clients’ needs and further their marketing goals. You’ll work closely with our design and dev teams to ensure system consistency and improve user experience. We have a number of retainer clients, so in addition to new website builds there will also be varied support, optimization, and maintenance tasks.

  • Front-end development of responsive websites based on mockups and wireframes and adhering to functional and technical requirements, primarily in WordPress
  • Creation or integration of tools to enhance the website experience for the client and the end-user
  • Integration of database elements developed by back-end developers with consumer-facing solutions
  • Implementation of security and data protection, including fixing any website issues or bugs as they emerge
  • Optimization of websites for search engine visibility and conversion rates, including mobile experience and core web vitals
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of back- and front-end developers, designers, copywriters, and marketing strategists

Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional development experience and expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Advanced understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce
  • Extensive experience with related tools/plugins such as Gutenberg and other page builders, ACF, Yoast, Gravity Forms, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of adaptive and responsive design
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think clearly and logically
  • Knowledge of and passion for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), including WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., MailChimp, Stripe, etc.)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Understanding of key website conversion tactics, UX best practices and SEO optimization principles, and experience with related tools
  • Ability to work to deadline and juggle competing priorities, willingness to take ownership of projects
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science or related field
