The Library Restaurant & Pub is the premier restaurant on the Southwest side of Indianapolis. Family owned and operated, our upscale-casual restaurant has a long history of delighting guests by providing exceptional dining experiences to everyone that comes through our doors. Position and Qualifications

The Front of House Manager oversees the daily operation of the front-of-house team, ensuring a seamless, elevated guest experience from arrival to departure. This leadership role is responsible for supervising and supporting staff, maintaining high service standards, and fostering a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities include managing opening procedures, coordinating closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate service, resolving guest concerns with professionalism and urgency, and upholding all health, safety, and sanitation standards.

The AM Front of House Manager also plays an integral role in team development, including staff training, scheduling, and maintaining operational readiness throughout each shift. Additionally, this position supports community outreach efforts by cultivating relationships with nearby hotels and local businesses to drive awareness and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high standard of customer service and guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise, schedule, and motivate FOH staff (hosts, servers, etc.).
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of FOH areas before service.
  • Handle guest complaints or service issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Coordinate with kitchen/back-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Monitor inventory of FOH supplies and submit requisitions as needed.
  • Train new FOH staff and maintain ongoing performance standards.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Answer phones (take reservations, book banquets & meetings, answer guest questions, take food orders, etc.).
  • Maintain updated shared drives , files, and event calendars.
  • Maintain vendor, customer, company, and employee files.
  • Administer our Royalty Rewards frequent diner program.
  • Prepare management reports (sales, payroll, weekly projections, etc.).
  • Manage and process invoices, receipts, etc.
  • Perform restaurant support tasks ie; hosting, expediting.

Additional Qualifications

  • You must have strong leadership and team management skills.
  • You must be very organized and have high attention to detail.
  • You must be motivated, proactive, and able to complete large amounts of work efficiently and effectively.
  • You must have a professional attitude and appearance – we are laid back, but we still hold ourselves to the a high standard of professionalism.
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communications skills as you will be interacting with our guests, vendors, and team members.
  • You must have a keen sense of ethics (honesty and discretion are key components) and you must be able to maintain confidentiality as you will be handling sensitive employee and financial records.
  • You must also have excellent computer and internet skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access). Experience with QuickBooks is a definite plus.
  • Since we are a restaurant, you must also enjoy interacting with our guests and provide excellent customer service.
