Duties

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival and at time of leaving, ensuring a friendly and professional front desk experience
  • Verify patient insurance coverage through insurance verification processes and update records accordingly
  • Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries and directing calls appropriately
  • Maintain accurate patient records and front desk documentation
  • Assist with medical scheduling, intake procedures, and ensuring all patient information is current and complete
  • Support medical billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and HIPAA compliance standards
  • Support clinical and administrative staff as needed
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
  • Ensure the front office runs smoothly and remains organized

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

  • Prior clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred, especially in front desk or administrative support roles within healthcare settings
  • Basic understanding of insurance verification and patient intake processes
  • Proficiency with EMR systems
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical billing practices (willing to train)
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction and clear communication
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism and maintain high levels of organization in a busy office setting
