We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper with nonprofit experience to join our growing remote team. In this key role, you will oversee the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions for a portfolio of clients, with a strong focus on nonprofit organizations as well as small businesses across other industries.
The ideal candidate is confident managing full-cycle bookkeeping independently, understands nonprofit accounting concepts such as restricted funds, grants, classes, and board-ready reporting, and can keep multiple clients organized in a fast-paced environment. Duties
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of nonprofit and small business clients
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and monthly close processes
- Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet accounts accurately and on time
- Prepare and post journal entries within QuickBooks Online and other accounting platforms
- Maintain clean and accurate charts of accounts
- Prepare monthly financial reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Budget vs Actual, and custom reports as needed
- Support nonprofit clients with fund tracking, grant activity, class/location tracking, and board reporting
- Coordinate payroll processing and related bookkeeping entries
- Assist with year-end close and provide organized records for tax preparers or auditors
- Communicate directly with clients regarding questions, missing items, and recommendations
- Help onboard new clients and support bookkeeping transitions from prior providers
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper managing books independently
- Prior experience working with nonprofit organizations required
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience required
- Understanding of debits/credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly close
- Experience preparing accurate financial statements
- Knowledge of payroll and basic sales tax / 1099 processes preferred
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and professionalism with clients
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment

Pay: $27.00 - $33.00 per hour
Work Location: Remote
