Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Software Testing Engineer (QA) with strong manual testing expertise and basic automation skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in test strategies & methodologies, test case design & creation, defect management, and a solid understanding of Azure DevOps or Jira. This role needs to be self driven & requires mentoring junior team members and ensuring the highest quality standards in our software solutions. Experience in the HR domain is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform manual testing across web, mobile and enterprise applications to ensure quality and performance.
- Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
- Identify, document, and track defects using Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and UI testing.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and grooming for junior QA team members.
- Ensure the team follows the best testing methodologies, QA processes, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Perform basic automation testing using Selenium, Python, or other automation frameworks (nice to have).
- Actively participate in test planning, risk assessment, and requirement analysis.
- Ensure effective communication across team and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Manual Testing, with some exposure to Automation Testing.
- Strong expertise in testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
- Hands-on experience in test case design, test execution, and defect tracking.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps or Jira for test and defect management.
- Ability to mentor and groom junior team members.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Experience of testing data reports and visualization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of SQL queries for data validation.
- Experience in API testing (Postman or similar tools) is a plus.
- Exposure to HR software or PEO (Professional Employer Organization) domain is preferred.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
- Exposure to automation testing tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience in scripting languages such as Python or Java for test automation.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
