About the role

We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer to build and scale high-performance web applications and backend systems powering mission-critical business workflows. This role is heavily backend-focused with additional responsibility across frontend development.

You will work on designing scalable APIs, building robust backend services, and contributing to user-facing applications. Experience in payments, fintech infrastructure, or gateway integrations is strongly preferred given the nature of systems being built.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, focusing on performance, reliability, and clean architecture
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services to support frontend and external integrations
• Work with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) to design schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity
• Develop responsive and performant frontend applications using the MERN stack (React, Redux, Node, Express, MongoDB)
• Implement authentication, authorization, and secure API access patterns across systems
• Integrate third-party services and APIs, with a strong focus on payment gateways and fintech infrastructure (e.g., Stripe or similar systems)
• Collaborate on system design for scalable distributed architectures and microservices where needed
• Debug production issues, optimize application performance, and ensure system reliability
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with appropriate unit and integration testing
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and engineering best practices
• Contribute to frontend UI development where needed, ensuring seamless end-to-end user experience

What you'll need

• 4+ years of full stack development experience with strong focus on Node.js backend development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with MERN stack (React, Node.js, Express, MongoDB)
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, and system design fundamentals
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services in production systems
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, security best practices, and API design principles
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills

Preferred: Experience with payment systems, fintech infrastructure, or payment gateway integrations (Stripe etc.)

• Ability to work across frontend and backend while taking ownership of features end-to-end
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
