Full-Time Infant Nanny

A warm and welcoming family in Princeton, NJ is seeking a professional, experienced, and developmentally focused nanny to care for their baby due at the end of August 2026. This is a long-term opportunity anticipated to last at least two years and is ideal for a nanny who enjoys supporting first-time parents while fostering healthy infant development.

LOCATION:

Princeton, NJ

START DATE:

August 24, 2026, or September 1, 2026

SCHEDULE:

Monday–Thursday or Monday–Friday (to be determined based on family and candidate agreement)

Hours approximately:

8:00/9:00 a.m. – 5:00/5:30 p.m. (40 hours guaranteed)

COMPENSATION:

$30–$35 per hour

ABOUT THE FAMILY

The family is expecting their first child at the end of August 2026. Mom primarily works from home and travels periodically for work. Dad works outside of the home. The household also includes a teenage child who resides in the home part-time and requires no care.

The family has three friendly senior dogs. The dogs are largely self-sufficient, although the nanny may let them outside if desired. Comfort around pets is required.

Grandparents and extended family may occasionally visit or stay in the home, particularly when parents are traveling. The family is seeking a nanny who is comfortable working collaboratively within a multigenerational family environment.

The family values open communication, transparency, and teamwork. They are specifically looking for a nanny who communicates directly, confidently, and professionally.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal nanny is warm, nurturing, knowledgeable, and highly experienced with newborns and infants. The family is seeking someone who can serve as a trusted childcare professional and developmental guide throughout the baby's early years.

They would love to find a nanny who:

  • Has extensive newborn and infant experience
  • Understands developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities
  • Can confidently make recommendations regarding routines, sleep, feeding transitions, toys, developmental opportunities, and enrichment activities
  • Clearly communicates observations, goals, and developmental progress
  • Enjoys educating and partnering with first-time parents
  • Is proactive, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Values collaboration and open communication

The family appreciates caregivers who communicate concerns or suggestions directly rather than expecting parents to guess what is needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Infant Care:

  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care
  • Establish and maintain healthy daily routines
  • Support feeding, diapering, naps, and age-appropriate activities
  • Create engaging opportunities that encourage growth and development
  • Track and communicate developmental milestones

Child-Related Household Tasks:

  • Baby laundry
  • Bottle preparation and sanitization
  • Cleaning and organizing baby areas
  • Cleaning up after daily activities
  • Monitoring baby supplies and maintaining inventory lists
  • Making recommendations regarding developmental toys, equipment, and supplies

Additional Household Support:

  • Light assistance with food preparation, such as washing or chopping vegetables
  • No family meal preparation or cooking required

TRAVEL

Occasional travel opportunities may become available in the future. While travel experience is appreciated, it is not a requirement for this position.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of professional infant/newborn care experience
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Comfortable completing a comprehensive background check
  • Comfortable working in a home with pets
  • Strong professional childcare references
  • Tdap vaccination required
  • MMR vaccination required
  • TB screening required
  • Annual flu vaccination preferred
