The Family:

This Queen Anne family is seeking a warm, experienced infant nanny to join them as they navigate the early months of parenthood with their first baby. They are looking for a professional caregiver who can provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care during the workday while also serving as a confident and knowledgeable resource for first-time parents. The family is especially interested in finding someone who can bring practical infant-care wisdom, offer helpful tips and guidance when appropriate, and support them as they build confidence in their parenting rhythm.

The household has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The parents enjoy cooking, playing music at home, and spending time together with their baby and their small wiener dog. One parent works a hybrid schedule and will be working from home two to three days per week, so the ideal nanny will be comfortable working in a household where a parent may occasionally be present during the workday. The parents value open communication and respect the professional experience that an experienced nanny brings.

Their child is described as a very happy baby who enjoys motion, face-to-face interaction, and spending time playing in his activity gym. The family is excited to find a nanny who will engage with him throughout the day and support his early development in a calm, attentive environment.

Because the family does not have extended family nearby, building a strong and trusting relationship with their nanny is especially important to them. They hope to find someone who will become a reliable, steady presence in their baby’s life and a trusted partner in their parenting journey.

The household includes a small, sweet wiener dog, so comfort around dogs is important. The family also has a few household preferences, including no heavy scents or perfumes and no shoes worn inside the home. Baby has no allergies or special needs at this time.

The Job Description:

The family is seeking a full-time infant nanny who is loving, dependable, and highly experienced with young babies. This is a childcare-focused role centered on providing attentive, developmentally supportive care for one infant during the workweek. The ideal nanny will be confident managing infant routines, knowledgeable about age-appropriate development, and comfortable guiding first-time parents with practical tips and support as needed.

This family would love to find someone who is confident but not overpowering—someone who can take initiative, bring a strong infant-care foundation, and offer expertise without being overly domineering in their style. The right fit will be professional, calm, communicative, and able to create a nurturing daily rhythm that supports both the baby’s needs and the family’s transition into this new stage of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, loving, attentive care for one infant
  • Manage the baby’s daytime routine, including naps, feeding, diapering, soothing, and age-appropriate wake windows
  • Support healthy infant development through talking, reading, music, tummy time, sensory play, and other developmentally appropriate activities as the baby grows
  • Bottle preparation, bottle feeding, and washing/sanitizing bottles used during the shift
  • Wash, dry, and properly sanitize breast pump bottles and parts throughout the day to ensure they are clean, organized, and ready for use
  • Maintain diapering and baby hygiene routines
  • Support the transition to solids when developmentally appropriate and in partnership with the parents
  • Take the baby on walks and provide fresh air/outdoor time when appropriate
  • Track and communicate daily updates regarding naps, feedings, diapers, routines, milestones, and any concerns
  • Monitor baby-related supplies and notify parents when items are running low
  • Keep nursery, baby play areas, and baby items tidy and organized
  • Handle child-related tasks such as baby laundry, tidying bottles/feeding items, and maintaining the baby’s spaces in good order
  • Serve as a helpful, experienced resource to first-time parents by sharing practical infant-care tips and best practices when appropriate
  • No household assistant duties required.

Nanny Attributes/Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years of minimum professional experience caring for infants (recent infant experience strongly preferred)

  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Up-to-date on required vaccinations, including COVID, annual influenza, TDAP, and MMR
  • Comfortable around dogs and must not have dog allergies
  • No strong scents, perfume, or heavily fragranced products
  • No shoes worn inside the home (indoor slippers are fine)
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Professional, reliable, and confident supporting first-time parents

The Family Is Looking For:

  • Warm, calm, and nurturing
  • Highly experienced with infants and confident managing baby routines
  • Professional, dependable, and communicative
  • Able to offer parenting tips and infant-care guidance in a supportive, respectful way
  • Confident and knowledgeable without being overly domineering
