The Family:

This Bellingham family is seeking a warm, reliable, and experienced nanny to care for their infant daughter. As first-time parents, they are thoughtful, engaged, and focused on creating a nurturing, communicative, and developmentally supportive environment.

Their daughter is social, expressive, happy, and rarely fussy. She enjoys interaction, engagement, and connection, and the family is looking for a caregiver who will actively support her growth through attentive, responsive care and age-appropriate activities.

Both parents work primarily from home and maintain a dedicated workspace. They are seeking a nanny who is comfortable working in a home where parents are present — someone who welcomes occasional interaction while also being confident in maintaining clear boundaries when the parents are working and unavailable.

The family values strong relationships and is hoping to find someone who feels like an extension of their family. They are looking for a nanny who is warm, communicative, proactive, and invested in building a meaningful connection with their child over time.

Child has no special needs at this time. The home also includes a friendly, low-maintenance border collie.

The Job Description:

This is a childcare only role centered on providing attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for an infant. The ideal candidate is experienced with infants, confident in their caregiving abilities, and genuinely enjoys this stage of development.

The nanny will be responsible for managing the child’s daily routine, including feeding, naps, play, and developmental activities. This includes bottle feeding, preparation and introduction of solid foods, and maintaining consistency in daily rhythms.

The family is looking for a caregiver who is engaged and interactive, while also allowing space for independent play and exploration. Daily outdoor time, reading, and age-appropriate activities are encouraged.

The nanny will also support a collaborative care environment, particularly as the mother continues breastfeeding. Comfort with bottle feeding, cleaning bottles and feeding supplies, and supporting feeding transitions is important.

Health and safety are a priority. The nanny should be attentive to the child’s well-being, including awareness of a potential egg allergy and maintaining strong hygiene and food safety practices.

This is strictly a childcare role. Responsibilities are limited to the child and child-related tasks only.

The family may be open to a nanny share in the future, but this is not an immediate requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, nurturing care for an infant throughout the day
  • Maintain consistent daily routines (feeding, naps, playtime)
  • Bottle feeding and preparation/feeding of solid foods
  • Manage cloth diapering, cleaning and inventory

  • Engage in interactive play (reading, music, sensory activities, etc.)
  • Encourage independent play and exploration
  • Take the child on daily outings such as walks and outdoor time
  • Monitor the child’s overall health, safety, and well-being
  • Maintain awareness of food sensitivities and safe feeding practices
  • Clean and sanitize bottles, feeding equipment, and related items
  • Provide regular updates to parents regarding the child’s day
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment related to the child
  • Complete child-related laundry as needed
