Description:
About the Family
A warm, engaged family with four young children (ages 6.5, 4.5, 2, and 4 months) is seeking long-term childcare support as they transition from a beloved nanny of nearly five years. The mother is a stay-at-home parent who runs a home-based business and is highly involved in her children’s daily lives. The father is a physician who works both from home and at the hospital on designated days.
The family recognizes the importance of creating a sustainable structure and plans to implement both a full-time nanny and part-time afternoon support. The full-time nanny will primarily care for two to three children at a time, as the older children are in school during much of the day. When all four children are home (primarily afternoons), there will be part-time support and/or a parent present. It will be very rare for the nanny to be solely responsible for all four children without another adult in the home.
There are no pets. Driving is required, and a family car will be provided. The family travels domestically approximately four times per year during school breaks.
The Role (Day-to-Day Care)
During school hours, the nanny will primarily care for the infant and toddler, with occasional support for the preschooler depending on the day. Responsibilities include managing age-appropriate routines, supporting nap schedules, preparing simple meals and snacks for the children (e.g., eggs, grilled cheese, quesadillas), and planning engaging developmental activities.
In the afternoons, when older children return from school, the nanny will work collaboratively with the mother and part-time afternoon nanny to help facilitate after-school transitions, activities, playdates, and general organization. Child-related household responsibilities include:
Maintaining organization of children’s bedrooms and play areas
Rotating seasonal clothing
Monitoring and communicating supply needs (snacks, essentials)
Cleaning up after meals and activities
Coordinating and transporting children to school and activities
The position is designed to be collaborative and sustainable, with shared responsibilities during peak hours.
Collaboration & Communication
This is a parent-present home. The mother is hands-on, engaged, and values being involved in her children’s daily lives. The nanny should be confident working alongside a present parent while still taking initiative and maintaining structure.
There will virtually always be another adult in the home. It will be very rare for the nanny to be left alone with all four children, and those instances would be limited (e.g., a short appointment or date night).
Strong communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable partnering with an involved family.
Travel
Domestic travel approximately four times per year (school breaks and summer). The full-time nanny should be travel-ready and comfortable supporting the family during trips.

Strong infant and toddler experience

This is an excellent opportunity for a nanny who thrives in a team-oriented household and enjoys being part of a highly engaged family dynamic.
