Seeking a hands-on Working Trailer Mechanic Foreman to help lead trailer shop operations while actively working alongside the team. This position will pay between $25-$32 dollars per hour and is responsible for handling trailer inspections, assisting with scheduling and shop workflow, trailer mechanic assignments, monitoring repair quality, and helping keep repairs moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform trailer repairs, maintenance, and DOT inspections
- Conduct trailer pre-inspections and identify repair needs
- Assist with daily scheduling and shop workflow coordination
- Assign work tasks to trailer mechanics
- Monitor repair progress and maintain productivity
- Perform quality control checks on completed repairs
- Ensure repairs meet DOT and company standards
- Assist mechanics with troubleshooting and technical support
- Verify proper work order documentation and labor tracking
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Qualifications
- 2 years trailer repair experience required
- 2 years leadership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of trailer brakes, suspension, lighting, air systems, and DOT inspections
- Ability to multitask and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment
- Must be familiar with computer technology.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Welding/fabrication experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required
- Able to work outdoors
