Functional Relationship Lead – Supply Chain IT

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of the FRL - Supply Chain IT role is to understand and fulfill the IT requirements of the supply chain department within the FRL domain. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and implementing IT solutions that cater specifically to the needs and challenges of the supply chain function. This entails collaborating with key stakeholders, such as supply chain managers, logistics coordinators, and inventory specialists, to gather requirements, assess existing systems, and provide innovative IT solutions. The primary objectives include evaluating the feasibility of IT solutions, defining project scopes aligned with supply chain objectives, securing budgetary approvals, and overseeing successful project execution. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the FRL - Supply Chain IT role contributes to optimizing supply chain operations, enhancing efficiency, and improving overall performance within the supply chain department.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Build deep understanding of supply chain business objectives, processes, governance, and challenges

  • Establish strong relationships with key business stakeholders

  • Maintain strong partnerships within IT and proactively translate business needs into IT requirements

  • Secure the right IT capabilities and resources to drive value for both Business and IT

  • Lead regular interactions to sustain alignment, trust, and a shared vision

Value Delivery

  • Actively participate in business forums and become part of the extended supply chain leadership team

  • Link business objectives, initiatives, and programs with IT solutions to deliver integrated value

  • Ensure value realization and sustained adoption of IT solutions

  • Support the business in resolving pain points with durable, scalable solutions

  • Escalate issues related to approvals, projects, or delivery gaps

  • Partner with product managers to ensure business capabilities and architecture integration across products

  • Drive solution integration across multiple platforms and products to maximize business value

Risk Management

  • Map and monitor interdependencies across initiatives within the assigned product groups

  • Conduct proactive business impact analysis and risk assessments

  • Create mitigation plans and coordinate cross-product reviews to anticipate or resolve issues

Governance

  • Participate in IT governance processes to enable prioritization across initiatives

  • Own demand management where applicable

  • Support business governance initiatives, including automation and changes impacting ways of working

Support and Sustain

  • Prioritize and manage issues and escalations on behalf of business stakeholders

  • Provide insight into business disruption caused by major incidents (P1/P2)

  • Coordinate crisis management and communication during critical incidents

Leadership

  • Drive adoption of the IT Vision to Life (IT V2L) and lead by example

  • Foster an open, inclusive culture aligned with Nestlé values

  • Enable performance through coaching, feedback, and continuous challenge of the operating model

  • Recognize and reward performance and achievements

Key Experience and Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Food Science, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in IT roles such as Business Analyst, Project Manager, or similar

  • Experience working in a product-based IT organization

  • Experience in global, matrixed environments

Technical and Business Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of system engineering, architecture standards, and information security

  • Deep understanding of IT landscape within the supply chain domain

  • Working knowledge of APIs, integrations, and enterprise systems (ERP exposure preferred)

  • Strong understanding of business complexity and interdependencies

Skills and Capabilities

  • Proven track record of ownership and delivery in fast-paced environments

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across levels

  • High organization and prioritization capability with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
