Job Title: Fundraising Events Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Fundraising Events Coordinator supports the mission of Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing successful fundraising events that generate financial support, raise awareness, and strengthen relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.

The ideal candidate is an energetic and organized professional with a passion for creating meaningful, inclusive events that reflect the organization’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Event Management

  • Plan, organize, and execute all fundraising events, including galas, donor receptions, charity walks/runs, silent auctions, community fairs, and online campaigns.
  • Develop and manage detailed event plans, budgets, timelines, and logistics to ensure smooth execution.
  • Secure venues, vendors, entertainment, and catering while ensuring all events are accessible and inclusive for attendees with disabilities.
  • Coordinate event setup, volunteer schedules, and day-of logistics.

Sponsorship & Donor Engagement

  • Identify and solicit event sponsors, partners, and in-kind donors in collaboration with the Development Director.
  • Create sponsorship packages, manage sponsor communications, and ensure fulfillment of recognition benefits.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with event participants, donors, and corporate partners to encourage ongoing engagement and support.
  • Assist with follow-up activities, including thank-you communications, impact reports, and donor database updates.

Marketing & Communications

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop event promotion materials such as invitations, flyers, social media content, and press releases.
  • Manage online event listings, registration platforms, and email campaigns.
  • Capture stories, photos, and impact highlights from events to support future marketing and donor engagement efforts.

Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Partner with program and client services teams to integrate client participation into events in a way that promotes inclusion and empowerment.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, civic groups, and community organizations to expand awareness and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and donor gatherings.

Administrative & Reporting

  • Track event-related income and expenses, ensuring adherence to budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendees, donors, and sponsors using the donor management system.
  • Prepare event evaluations and reports to analyze outcomes, return on investment, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed post-event reports to the Executive Team and Board of Directors, highlighting event impact, community engagement, and alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience planning and executing fundraising events, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Proven success in sponsorship solicitation, donor relations, or fundraising campaigns.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Creative, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and experiences of individuals with disabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and event/donor management tools (e.g., Eventbrite, DonorPerfect, Little Green Light, Bloomerang).
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
