Furniture Painter & Polisher

The Furniture Painter & Polisher is responsible to carry out high-quality painting, staining, polishing, touch-up, and refinishing of wooden furniture, decorative fixtures, cabinetry, doors, and other timber elements within the estate. The Furniture Painter & Polisher plays a key role in maintaining the luxurious aesthetic of the estate interiors, ensuring all wooden and decorative surfaces are treated, restored, or finished to the highest standards of craftsmanship, durability, and visual appeal.

JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Certificate in Wood Finishing, Surface Preparation, Furniture Painting, or a related trade.
• Trade-level training or apprenticeship in furniture polishing and painting techniques (required).
• Basic certification or awareness in workplace safety and PPE (preferred).
• Familiarity with UAE paint product standards and surface treatment guidelines.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience in furniture painting, polishing, and surface restoration, ideally in luxury residences, palaces, hospitality, or high-end furniture workshops in the UAE or GCC.
• Hands-on experience in working with solid wood, veneers, lacquered finishes, PU coatings, and gold/silver leafing is highly preferred.
• Experience in on-site touch-ups, repairs, and refinishing in occupied luxury properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Painting & Polishing Expertise

• Skilled in applying stains, sealers, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, PU, and oil-based coatings on wood surfaces.
• Experience in creating gloss, matte, satin, and antique finishes tailored to specific furniture styles.
• Capable of spray-painting, brush applications, and manual polishing techniques with flawless results.

Surface Preparation

• Preparing surfaces through sanding, filling, puttying, and priming before finishing.
• Identifying defects (cracks, dents, discoloration) and performing corrective treatments.
• Matching new finishes to existing tones for repairs and restorations.

Furniture Touch-Up & Restoration

• Performing color touch-ups, scratch repairs, and surface restoration of antique or designer furniture.
• Maintaining consistency in finish for matching furniture sets or custom installations.
• Working discreetly and cleanly within sensitive or occupied environments.

Tool & Material Handling

• Proficient in using spray guns, buffers, sanding machines, air compressors, and polishing tools.
• Knowledge of paint mixing, color blending, and material compatibility for long-lasting results.
• Safe handling and storage of solvents, chemicals, and flammable materials as per HSE standards.

Quality Control & Aesthetic Sensibility

• High attention to color accuracy, texture uniformity, and finish consistency.
• Understanding of luxury aesthetics and ability to maintain visual harmony in interiors.
• Ability to deliver premium finishes that align with interior designer expectations and high-end brand standards.

Coordination & Discretion

• Working closely with carpenters, interior maintenance teams, and supervisors for project planning.
• Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive estate settings.
• Flexibility to work in occupied villas, on custom furniture, or during urgent event preparations.
