Game Development Instructor – Unity & C# (Part-Time, In-Person)

Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate Unity / C# Game Development Coach to mentor students in designing and building games. This is a part-time, in-person role (4–15 hours/week) with consistent weekly scheduling, typically between 3:00–8:00 PM on weekdays and mornings on weekends.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, has a strong foundation in Unity and C#, and is excited about teaching through hands-on, project-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach students (ages ~10–18) game development using Unity and C#
  • Guide students through building games and interactive projects from concept to completion
  • Adapt teaching style to different formats:
  • Private / Semi-Private Lessons: Personalized instruction tailored to individual student goals
  • App Team (Group Mentorship): Lead small teams in collaborative game development and presentations
  • Structured Classes: Deliver curriculum-based instruction in a classroom setting
  • Foster problem-solving, creativity, and computational thinking
  • Communicate student progress with parents in a clear and professional manner
  • Support student presentations and showcase events (e.g., Coder Fairs)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience with Unity and C# (academic, personal projects, or professional)
  • Strong understanding of programming fundamentals (variables, loops, conditionals, OOP basics)
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to beginners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm for working with kids and teens

Preferred:

  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring students
  • Familiarity with additional languages/tools (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Scratch)
  • Experience with game design principles (game mechanics, UX, level design)
