Garden Center Manager

Overview

We are a family owned business of 60 years and are seeking a dedicated Garden Center Manager to oversee the operations of our greenhouse, garden center and farmers market. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and customer service, ensuring the smooth running of the garden center and farmers market.

Garden Center tasks include

General care and watering of plant material. Communicating well with customers and ringing out sales with basic computer skills. Loading customers with trees and mulch. willing to run skid loader and lift 50lbs. Plant and pest identification skills are a plus.

Pay based off of experience and willingness to learn.

Starting Mid March of 2026

Duties

• Manage day-to-day operations of the garden center
• Supervise staff and provide guidance and training
• Maintain inventory levels and oversee stock ordering
• Create visually appealing displays to showcase products
• Assist customers with plant selection and gardening advice
• Handle cash register transactions
• Scheduling deliveries

Skills

• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with staff and vendors
• Excellent customer service abilities to assist and engage customers
• Knowledge of gardening practices tree and plant identification and care
• Experience in retail sales, including cash register operation
• Familiarity with floral design is a plus
• Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members
• Organizational skills to manage inventory and displays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
