Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Gas Market Analyst to join our Gas team in Dubai, UAE. Ideal for an individual with strong commercial acumen and initiative in gas market analysis, this role offers the opportunity to manage risk in dynamic markets. You will support the trading team with in-depth market analysis, contributing to the development of trading strategies. This position provides a challenging career path within our team, with opportunities to advance into senior gas analyst, trading, or portfolio management roles. Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with traders to generate and refine trading strategies.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of European gas markets, including supply, demand, pricing, and regulatory trends.
• Develop and maintain forecasting models to predict market movements
• Prepare regular market reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
• Continuously monitor market fundamentals and news to support trading decisions
• Collaborate with trading, risk management, and business development teams
• Contribute to the development of trading and hedging strategies
• Participate in industry conferences and networking events to stay abreast of market trends
• Build tools and views to support trading decisions, working closely with data scientists and tech teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in gas market analysis or a similar role within the energy sector
• At least 1 year of experience with intermediate proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, and Excel is required
• Proven commercial acumen and the ability to contribute to the bottom line
• Excellent understanding of European energy markets, particularly natural gas
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
