Position Overview:
The General Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards within a dynamic Food & Beverage (F&B) environment. This position requires hands-on experience in vendor management, cost control, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on ERP operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the purchasing, operations, and warehouse teams to ensure accuracy and transparency in all accounting transaction
- Verify and record vendor invoices in ERP, ensuring accurate coding to cost centers and general ledger accounts.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and goods received notes (GRNs) from restaurant and central kitchen operations.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs, including cheques, bank transfers, and petty cash.
- Monitor supplier aging reports and ensure timely payments to maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Record and track staff advances, supplier prepayments, and ensure proper settlement and documentation.
- Support month-end closing by preparing AP-related accruals and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with purchasing, stores, and operations teams to validate invoice accuracy and cost allocations.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies, approval workflows, and financial procedures.
- Assist auditors by providing required documentation, schedules, and reconciliations related to accounts payable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the Food & Beverage or Hospitality sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
- Excellent Excel and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
