Job Summary:Responsible for overseeing all site-level activities and managing multiple trades and foremen simultaneously to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution of building construction works. The role demands hands-on leadership, technical knowledge, and coordination skills to drive site productivity, enforce quality standards, and meet project timelines according to contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of all site trades and foremen to ensure work sequences, quality, and safety compliance are strictly followed.
- Coordinate formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, blockwork, plastering, tiling, painting, finishing, and external works
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings with foremen and site teams to clarify work scope and methods.
- Direct and monitor work progress on site ensuring adherence to project schedule and deadlines.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Inspect workmanship quality for compliance with contract requirements, codes, and company standards; initiate corrective actions for deviations.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and tools on site, minimizing delays.
- Provide technical guidance and training to subordinate foremen and site workers on complex construction tasks and techniques.
- Monitor manpower productivity and labour deployment; recommend adjustments to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with QA/QC inspectors to carry out inspections, tests, and ensure proper documentation of quality records and non-conformance reports.
- Liaise with subcontractor foremen and supervisors to synchronize work sequences and avoid conflicts between trades.
- Assist engineers and site managers in planning and resolving technical and operational issues.
- Maintain detailed daily progress reports, labour attendance, and material usage records for project documentation.
- Manage temporary works and ensure formwork, scaffolding, and shoring systems are properly installed and dismantled as per engineering standards.
- Respond promptly to site emergencies, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Facilitate smooth handover and closeout activities by ensuring punch lists are completed and site is cleared of defects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Secondary school certificate or Diploma.
- 12 or more years of practical site experience including 6 years as a General Foreman in building construction in the UAE/GCC
- Able to read & interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings precise.
