General Practice Veterinary Technician

Bring Your Skills to Exceptional General Practice

Veterinary Healthcare Associates (VHA) is seeking a highly skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) who is passionate about wellness, preventive medicine, and building lasting relationships with patients and their families.

Our General Practice team delivers comprehensive care across every stage of a pet’s life—from wellness and diagnostics to dentistry, surgery, and management of illness. With General Practice, Emergency, Critical Care, and Specialty Services together on one integrated campus, our technicians also have opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, expand their skills, and experience a level of medicine rarely found in traditional general practice.

This role is ideal for a technician who values exceptional nursing care, client education, teamwork, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of patients.

  • Support anesthesia preparation, induction, monitoring, recovery, and pain management
  • Provide skilled nursing support for surgical and dental procedures, including patient monitoring and recovery
  • Perform diagnostic radiology with accurate positioning and adherence to radiation safety protocols
  • Educate clients on wellness, preventive care, medications, treatment recommendations, and post-procedural care
  • Maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes, surgical logs, and patient monitoring documentation
  • Utilize compassionate, low-stress handling techniques to promote patient comfort and safety
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and hospital teams to support efficient patient care and an exceptional client experience

  • Pursue opportunities to expand clinical skills through collaboration with Emergency, Critical Care, and Specialty teams

Required

  • Current CVT, RVT, or LVT credential in good standing strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience, with demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive companion animal care
  • Advanced proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, surgical nursing, dentistry, patient recovery, and pain assessment
  • Advanced proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, fluid therapy, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic imaging
  • Demonstrated ability to assess patients, recognize changes in condition, and communicate findings effectively to the veterinary team
  • Strong knowledge of wellness and preventive care with the ability to confidently educate clients on treatment recommendations and home care
  • Proven ability to manage multiple patients and responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, safety, and attention to detail
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to patient advocacy, client education, clinical excellence, and continued professional growth

Highly experienced non-credentialed Veterinary Technicians may be considered when they demonstrate advanced technical proficiency, significant clinical experience, and mastery of the nursing skills required for this role.

Preferred
