Geologist

We need a geologist for our operations in Islamabad and kpk.

Job Summary:

A Geologist studies the composition, structure, and history of the Earth’s materials and processes to understand how the planet has evolved and to support projects in natural resource exploration, environmental protection, land development, and hazard assessment. The role involves collecting and analyzing rock, soil, and mineral samples, conducting field surveys, and using specialized tools and software to interpret geological data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct fieldwork to collect samples of rocks, minerals, and soils.
• Analyze geological data using laboratory tests, geophysical techniques, and computer modeling.
• Prepare geological maps, cross-sections, and reports.
• Evaluate sites for natural resource potential (oil, gas, minerals, groundwater, etc.).
• Assess environmental and geological hazards such as landslides, earthquakes, and erosion.
• Provide technical advice for construction, mining, and environmental projects.
• Use GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and other software for data visualization and interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Present findings and recommendations to clients, government agencies, or project managers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred for advanced roles).
• Strong understanding of geological principles, stratigraphy, mineralogy, and geophysics.
• Proficiency in data analysis and mapping software (e.g., ArcGIS, Surfer, RockWorks, or AutoCAD).
• Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork, sometimes in remote locations and challenging conditions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and presentation.

Work Environment:

• Combination of fieldwork (collecting samples, mapping, surveying) and office/lab work (data analysis, reporting).
• May require travel to field sites, mines, drilling rigs, or environmental assessment locations.
• Often works in collaboration with engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers.
