General Description
The Individual is the sole person responsible for all Engineering and Scope extraction related to Shoring works alongside supporting the Dewatering Geotechnical and Estimation team when required. This requires a broad and extensive knowledge of the Construction Industry and Shoring related works.
Key Responsibilities

Perform geotechnical analysis and design for various piling and shoring systems (e.g., bored piles, secant/contiguous pile walls, sheet piling, H-beam retaining walls, and anchoring systems).

Perform geotechnical analysis and design for various ground improvement techniques.

Conduct soil-structure interaction studies, for example and not limited to lateral earth pressure evaluation, bearing capacity assessment, settlement analysis, and liquefaction risk assessment.

Prepare structural & geotechnical calculations and design reports for deep and shallow foundations and retention systems, adhering to project requirements, building codes, and industry standards.

Develop value-engineered solutions to optimize material usage, reduce costs, and enhance constructability.

Conduct geotechnical risk assessments and incorporate mitigation strategies into designs.

Collaborate with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and project teams to align designs with site conditions and approval requirements.

Create, review, and approve shop drawings, method statements, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and constructability.

Provide site support and technical clarifications to resolve design-related challenges during project execution.

Ensure designs comply with local and international engineering standards, such as BS, Eurocodes, ACI, ASTM, and Dubai Municipality guidelines.

Prepare and maintain design calculations, technical reports, and engineering documentation in line with the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Assist in obtaining authority approvals and coordinating technical discussions.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of design procedures and quality control processes.

Extract scope from initial enquiry and proficient at reading engineering drawings.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's in Geotechnical Engineering is a plus).

DM accredited/approved engineer.

Proficiency in geotechnical and structural design software (e.g., PLAXIS, DeepEX, Wallap, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, GeoStudio).

Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and excavation support systems.

Ability to interpret site investigation reports, borehole logs, and laboratory test results.

Strong coordination and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
-
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide junior team members.

A proactive approach and flexibility to adapt to project changes and challenges.

Minimum of 10+ years in geotechnical design for Sheet Piling and Shoring projects.

Valid driving license
