GIS Analyst III

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented GIS Analyst III to join our team and drive innovative geospatial solutions across diverse projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage advanced GIS technologies, data analysis, and mapping expertise to support infrastructure development, land management, and construction initiatives. As a key contributor, you will lead complex spatial data projects, develop sophisticated data models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful insights. Your expertise will help shape strategic decisions and optimize operational workflows through cutting-edge GIS applications.

Duties

• Serve as the project manager for team by acting as the intermediate between contractor management and federal COR. Knowledge of legal land descriptions, right of ways & leases.
• Use various cartographic/spatial functions when appropriate to make maps/applications fit stakeholders needs utilizing ESRI parcel fabric environment.
• Develop geospatial dashboards/applications to support leadership/OTS Division Chief missions.
• Develop scripts as needed to support geospatial workflows and applications. Help develop and assist with the parcel fabric process/workflow.
• All-new digital spatial data shall have appropriate BIA-compliant metadata produced for each dataset and must conform to BIA data standards for integration with existing datasets.
• Establish templates for mapping products/applications when appropriate to ensure the best data consistency possible.
• Document all procedures that do not already have SOPs for data consistency and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in GIS analysis with a strong background in ArcGIS platform functionalities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD drafting, land surveying techniques, GPS technology, and construction-related spatial applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, SQL, with experience in scripting for automation and API integration.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques for creating compelling maps and dashboards.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL for efficient data management.
• Ability to analyze complex datasets using analysis skills to derive actionable insights.
• Experience with data modeling concepts to structure spatial information effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings clearly to technical teams and stakeholders alike.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding junior team members or managing small project teams.
• Strong understanding of SharePoint for document management and collaboration purposes. Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
