Global B2B Platform Operations & Growth Director

Location: Lahore, Pakistan (On-site) Industry: Technology / B2B Marketplace / SaaS

About the Platform The platform is a global digital B2B marketplace aimed at connecting manufacturers and suppliers with buyers and companies worldwide. It operates on a supply-and-demand model to facilitate cross-border trade deals, with a specific focus on the Middle East and emerging markets. The platform is currently in a global expansion phase and requires executive operational leadership to transform the digital product into an effective, growing, and commercially sustainable business.

Job Purpose We are seeking an executive leader to manage the operational and commercial development of the platform. This role involves leading growth, building a two-sided marketplace (Suppliers and Buyers), optimizing performance, achieving international expansion, and ensuring the efficiency of daily operations.

Important Note: This is not a traditional marketing, content management, or sales role. It is a leadership role for a candidate with genuine experience in operating B2B platforms, Marketplaces, or SaaS products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations & Platform Management

  • Lead the daily operations of the platform, ensuring performance stability and quality of user experience.
  • Manage the onboarding and activation processes for both Suppliers and Buyers.
  • Oversee data quality, listings, and product presentations within the platform.
  • Establish clear Operational KPIs and monitor them regularly.

2. Market Building & Growth (Supply & Demand)

  • Build and expand the database of manufacturers and suppliers globally.
  • Develop strategies to attract buyers and companies from multiple markets.
  • Achieve a balance between the two sides of the platform (Supply & Demand).
  • Drive the conversion of user usage into actual commercial activity (Leads → Deals → Revenue).

3. Business Development & International Expansion

  • Formulate and execute geographic expansion plans for new markets.
  • Manage strategic partnerships both locally and internationally.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of revenue models.
  • Analyze markets, user behavior, and growth opportunities.

4. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams (Operations, Tech, Business).
  • Work closely with technical development teams to translate business needs into execution requirements.
  • Manage teams working remotely or in multi-cultural environments.

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Experience: 8–10+ years of experience in operating or developing digital platforms, B2B products, Marketplaces, or SaaS.
  • Marketplace Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in building or operating a two-sided market (Supply & Demand).
  • Growth Focus: Proven track record in growth and expansion (not just theoretical operations).
  • Language: High proficiency in English (speaking and writing) for international business.
  • Regional Knowledge: Practical understanding of Middle Eastern markets and the nature of B2B business within them.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Language: Fluency in Arabic.
  • Experience with B2B platforms, E-commerce, or digital trade solutions.
  • Experience working across multiple countries or markets.
  • Background in P&L management or revenue modeling.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

What We Are NOT Looking For (Disqualifiers):

  • Candidates who are solely Content Managers or SEO specialists.
  • Traditional Marketing Managers.
  • Sales Managers without specific platform/tech experience.
  • Theoretical experts with no actual operational experience.
