Position Summary:
The Center for Student Entrepreneurship (CSE) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is seeking specialists to serve as Global Entrepreneurs in Residence (GEIRs) to mentor students in specific STEM fields.

This is a part-time, in-person position (8 hours/week) located at NJIT’s Newark campus at the CSE.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintain and update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, and reporting systems used to track NJIT student venture progress, CSE program performance, and entrepreneurial ecosystem metrics.
  • Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools utilized by NJIT student founders, CSE staff, and program stakeholders to monitor startup activity and outcomes.
  • Design and create business intelligence tools and systems including databases, spreadsheets, and data outputs to support NJIT's CSE student entrepreneurship programming.
  • Conduct and coordinate tests to ensure that business outputs and venture analytics are consistent with CSE program goals, grant reporting requirements, and defined stakeholder needs.
  • Synthesize current business intelligence data and emerging startup trends to support data-driven recommendations for NJIT student ventures, CSE initiatives, and entrepreneurial ecosystem development.
  • Maintain a library of reusable analytical models, reporting templates, and knowledge assets to support consistent and scalable business intelligence practices across NJIT's Center for Student Entrepreneurship.
  • Support NJIT student entrepreneurs through hands-on mentorship, pitch preparation, customer discovery, and grant writing assistance, while actively participating in and helping coordinate CSE events including pitch competitions, demo days, and speaker series to advance early-stage ventures and innovation projects.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive student entrepreneurial community across campus. Actively promote CSE services to students and the broader NJIT community through events and visibility efforts.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
  • Accredited bachelor’s degree.
  • At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial experience required; holding a leadership position in a startup preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Commitment to in-person participation at NJIT for 8 hours weekly.
  • Acceptance into the NJIT Center for Student Entrepreneurship’s GEIR Cohort.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, conducting training and business development activities related entrepreneurial ventures.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $$54.13 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
