About The Role:

The Global Supply Manager drives sourcing strategy and supplier management across major categories, including fabricated metals, robotics subsystems, mechanical assemblies, and indirect services. This role translates complex technical and functional requirements into transparent RFx processes, supplier selection criteria, and total cost of ownership models, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply resilience.

Key responsibilities include negotiating supply agreements, managing supplier relationships, and building diversified global networks to support rapid program ramp-up and long-lead materials. The Global Supply Manager partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Manufacturing, and Field Operations to align sourcing decisions with business needs, influence make-buy strategies, and ensure supply readiness for new product introductions.

The role also leads supplier performance management through scorecards and quarterly business reviews, drives corrective actions for escalations, and supports Finance with budgeting, forecasts, and cost savings initiatives. By integrating risk assessments, logistics coordination, and strategic insights, the Global Supply Chain Manager ensures scalable, flexible, and resilient supply chains that enable business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead sourcing strategy for major spend categories including fabricated metals, robotics subsystems, mechanical assemblies, and indirect services,
  • Translate technical and functional requirements into clear RFx processes, supplier selection criteria, and total cost of ownership models
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and supply agreements that support growth, flexibility, and risk mitigation
  • Drive cross-functional alignment during sourcing decisions, supplier transitions, and new product introductions
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard global suppliers to support program and volume ramp-up
  • Establish supplier scorecards, track performance to KPIs (cost, quality, delivery), and lead quarterly business reviews
  • Manage key supplier escalations, delivery issues, and corrective action plans in collaboration with Operations and Engineering
  • Build resilient, diversified supply networks for long-lead and critical-path materials
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to influence make-buy decisions, DFM feedback loops, and early supplier engagement
  • Align with Manufacturing and Field Ops to ensure supply readiness, lead-time predictability, and logistics coordination
  • Support Finance in budgeting, forecast validation, and cost savings initiatives
  • Provide insights to support build planning, risk assessments, and commercial decision-making

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, global supply management, or supply chain operations; ideally in hardware, clean tech, robotics, or industrial sectors
  • Demonstrated success negotiating supply agreements, managing complex supplier relationships, and driving category strategy
  • Deep understanding of cost drivers, manufacturing processes, and contract structures in custom or engineered-to-order components
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen; able to build models, interpret data, and influence decisions with clarity
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with competing priorities
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills; able to drive alignment across technical and business stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree a plus

Preferred

  • Experience sourcing for CapEx programs, field deployments, or construction projects
  • Familiarity with ERP and procurement tools (e.g. NetSuite, Coupa, SAP)
  • Exposure to solar, clean energy, or infrastructure project supply chains
  • Global sourcing and low-cost region manufacturing experience

Compensation And Benefits

This role offers a base salary of $110,000 - $120,000 (DOE)

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range, individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher), dependent on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
